Today is the glorious Company Picnic (actually, just my particular department). My manager applied not-too-subtle pressures to both myself and K. to show up. I told him I hate the sun, the outdoors, and almost added "my coworkers" to that list ( Read more... )

I love frisbee. You write about a lot of proposed activities, potential dates, etc., that sound enjoyable to me, yet you don't want them. Perhaps we could switch bodies & lives? ;-)

Then again, I dislike my enforced work social functions too. But we don't play frisbee at ours! Our social functions end up being a bunch of boring tax attorneys discussing their cases over ice cream or cake.

... I accidentally punched S. in the face when he started tickling me. It was a "gut reaction"...

Yes, I am free-ballin' it at work.

Ha. My husband doesn't even OWN any underwear.

He's also turned up at work wearing locked leather wrist-and-ankle cuffs. Not to mention collars.

I dare you.

The only company picnic I've been to recently was that of my first ever dot.com. Unfortunately the company folded before the picnic, but, fortunately it was all paid for. In this case, only the fun people accepted and went to it, so, the 10 of us had TONS of catered food up in the Berkeley hills plus a full bar.. Wheeeeee.

Otherwise, I hate being forced to socialize like what you describe.

As for your freeballing..YUM!

I need a job that will permit me to go commando once in a while; as a cook, the potential for ass sweat is prohibitive of free-balling.
