Books Read 2007

I read between 80 and 85 books last year, depending on how you'd classify graphic novels.  Only 15 of them were adult fiction.  Wow, huh?  Yes, my job has stirred an interest in the young adult genre and yes, I enjoy YA immensely.   However, having just finished Krakauer's Into the Wild, I know that I need to make a greater effort to read books ( Read more... )

I enjoyed the Book Thief as well... (except for the German speaking... some of that just sounded and felt wrong).

I wondered about the German ... I wasn't sure how that would read for someone who knows the language. For me (I don't know anything about the language), it wasn't an issue. I guess that's the risk you run when you start incorporating another language ...

Thanks for that picture book recommendation. Like I need jessibud January 9 2008, 11:46:24 UTC
to add more titles to my already endless wanna read list... ;-)

Along those same lines, I am keeping an eye open for another recommendation (by TexasWren), for a book called *Gallop!* by Rufus Butler Seder. I am also looking forward to reading your #1 book on that list....

Sigh...

I know, I know. I'm sorry! But I couldn't help it. And it's wonderful! Just ask antof9! I was reading it on her deck and kept exclaiming aloud, if I recall correctly. I was definitely messing with her own reading groove (a cardinal sin, I know).

And now I've added "Gallop!" to my own list of holds at the library. So thanks, yourself. ;)

And did you hear that Hugo Cabret got the Caldecott? That'll be all the more interesting when you find time to read it. It's a fascinating idea.

I remember when you were reading The Arrival and we were decking! How many more months till that happens again?

I have that Atwood book, I think. Maybe I should move it up in my reading order ...

Decking. *sigh* It seems so far away. :( I'm tried of the cold. Grrrr...

And the Atwood book is fascinating ... heavy, though. Maybe you should wait until we have more sun. Unless you're looking for something to mood-match with this dreary weather.
