Sometimes I forget that, for all their bravado and strutting, 5th grade boys are really just kids and don't understand half of what they joke about. I forget this and I say something stupid.

I think it is very funny what you said. I would explain it to them, explain also why we don't like brown-nosing and then everybody can laugh about it ;-)

OM! That's so funny....I would have loved to have been a fly on a wall right then. (Of course this is one of those glad-I'm-not-you moments.)
