Without belaboring the point, let me suggest that you consider taking a shot at qualifying for Boston.

I'm not saying; I'm just saying.

I looked at the qualifying times. I'd need to run a 3:15. Screw that.

Are you planning on a Boston run? I am planning to apply my qualifying time from Baltimore to Boston 2010. Maybe we need to hold a BOST.BOB?

waider, if you're going to turn 40 by race day it drops to 3:20. I didn't think you were THAT much younger than I am. And I think that 3:20 is doable for you if you actually train for it - but you'd have to put in a great deal of effort, which I can totally get not being what you want to do.

Of course I can't imagine 3:20 even in my wildest dreams. (Maybe 3:35.)

Um, I'll turn 40 by race day 2013. By which time we'll all have succumbed to the Mayan Apocalypse anyway. And, obviously, right now I'm not really thinking favourably about EVER DOING A MARATHON AGAIN (although I can at least more-or-less walk normally today).

Philadelphia has a marathon, too. The past couple of years, the route has gone up my street.

Also, this past year there was a guy running in a bright red leotard and tutu, carrying a parasol.
