I really enjoy stream of consciousness, with a dash of presence-of-mind that I figure just about anyone would have when someone's trying to choke them to death.
I wish I had written all the dream sequences in Sparrow in present tense, as I did the last couple. It works out on a completely different level.
I read this initially on le iPhone while in a rare internet-having zone somewhere in Bum****, Cambodia. It's even more awesome on a (slightly) bigger screen and without all the 'your five minutes is up' messages interrupting.

You write fantastic inner monologues.

Oftentimes, it doesn't matter if it's not. Kind of like the action scenes in Sparrow, wherein the craziness is more important than the structure.
