Wow, am posting more this weekend than I have in months! But there is so much to love and tell and show about this trip - even if I have to bore everyone else

We did the carriage ride in Central Park as well. But most mindblowing was just standing at the ice rink where Love Story ended. I grew up with that scene. It was weird; even for those of us who had never been before, it was like walking through our own lives because so many scenes were so familiar.
You're right, we all do feel like we already know New York City because we've experienced it vicariously through film and television. So many things felt familiar to me as well. That is a very insightful observation.
That's great, I never really noticed the 66th Street Building! (though living on the West Side, I would of course not have been caught dead hanging out on the East Side).
Thank you for posting these fantastic pics of your visit. Those wonderful pictures are making me really desperate to visit New York, Not having been to the US at all, my dream is to visit New York and Boston, but never got around to actually saving up for the trip due to lack of funds. However now with things looking up I may get that chance some day, hopefully sooner rather than later. As a great fan of architecture I would be in my element.
Awww, I hope you do get to fulfill that dream of visiting New York and Boston. It only took me 50 years to manage it! ;) You would absolutely adore NYC, I'm sure. The architecture is remarkable and the city practically vibrates with energy.
More photos to come, although probably only one post this evening, as I'm limited on time.

Yeah, my enthusiasm is definitely out there right now - it was simply an incredible trip. There are still so many things to see and do next time.
