AGREED, all the way. It's been some time since I had such a big reaction to an episode, especially considering I was weary of it, because I'd always anticipated not liking God as a character if they ever decided to put him on screen for more than a hot second. But damn Rob and Curtis killed it in those later exchanges and Man, the song... the song was just. It did me in. Supernatural has been a part of my life for so many years now that I never could imagine not having it around, but lately I've been wondering whether they still had it in them to make such ground breaking creativity happen that incites such a passion and the need to go find people in fandom to gush and talk about the minute the screen turns black, but Gosh, if they haven't gone and done it with this one. Thank you, Robbie Thompson.
Oh with eps we had this season like Baby and Just My Imagination and the amazing, terrifying, gripping epic that is Red Meat, I have no doubt that the writers and all those involved in the production are still at the top of their game. It makes me almost giddy to think of what they might bring us in S12.
Metatron is still my least fav character, so smarmy and just despicable, but I don't think I will cheer if/when he gets killed as I would have before seeing this episode.
Thanks. :-)
Sam (and Jared) will ALWAYS be the best part of any ep for me but he was just chock full of extra special goodness in this one, being lovingly annoyed at Dean's method of ironing, his despair at not being able to save ppl from the fog, when he was infected himself still wanting and needing to protect Dean.
One thing that did bug me though was why there was absolutely no mention of the holy oil/fire cure that Sam worked out back in 11x02. I kept expecting Sam to mention it or grab some from the Impala before Dean pulled him inside.
The Chuck and Metatron bits didn't rock my world (though they were definitely watchable and had a few enjoyable moments), but the Sam&Dean bits were perfection.
I was quite bored by the C/M stuff on my first viewing up until Chuch threw Metatron through the door and got all menacing and a little dark and that's what I had been waiting to see. Up til then, I was still watching Chuck as we knew him in S4 & 5.
Yes, yes, yes with regards to the boys. Loved all their scenes. My only complaint is that they didn't have as much screen time as I would have like but I understand and grudgingly accept that for the myth-arc storyline to move forward as it needs to this close to the end of the season, the focus had to be on C&M. But at least Robbie Thompson didn't also have to cram in Casifer, Crowley, Rowena and Amara in there as well. It's why I like this ep so much more than Hell's Angel.
If we had to have a Sam & Dean 'lite' ep, I'm more than okay with the one Robbie gave us.
Me too. I was really worried for about the first 30 mins or so that it wouldn't be an ep I would want to rewatch any time soon. But by the end I was looking forward to hitting play again.

Bit's a liked, but yeah. I think it's because I really don't like this myth arc so ones like this just don't grab me.
The boys were pretty though! :D
