I'm in the process of basting it now, in preparation for quilting it. Just added some framing borders to make it big enough to cover shoulders AND feet when laying on the couch :) But before it becomes a couch potato wrap, I plan to exhibit it in one of the local guild shows this fall. I am starting to write up quilt instructions for some of the quilts I designed last year. My question is:

Do I:

(a) Write up the instructions as if I were going to sell them standalone or part of a kit?
(b) Write up the instructions as if I were writing an article to sell to a quilting magazine?

Now I have to do the back (!) and I can then deliver it to the longarm quilter lady (Janice). There will be photos later, after I'm unchained from the sewing machine.

One thing... why do my bobbins run out 12 inches before I'm done with a huge section?

One of the things I've discovered over the past couple of days during brief periods of procrastination was this site: Spoonflower.com. This place lets you design and create short-run (3 yards [1 meter] or less) fabric.

It seems the Turkish shoe manufacturer that made the shoes that were hurled at President Bush has received about 300,000 orders for the Model 271 shoe, now renamed "Bye-bye Bush."  His normal sales of that model of shoe is 20,000.

I had to use my "old Singer" for a few days because it's the only machine I have with a rolled hem foot. I have never used it successfully in the past, but, because I had to make 18 sashes out of chiffon for the dancers at my daughter's school, I have finally figured out how to use the thing properly ( Read more... )
