The quilt top is done (whew!)

Now I have to do the back (!) and I can then deliver it to the longarm quilter lady (Janice). There will be photos later, after I'm unchained from the sewing machine.

One thing... why do my bobbins run out 12 inches before I'm done with a huge section?

Because that's the RULE! But in this house, it's usually 3". You get an extra 9" where you are, not that it does you any good at all... LOL

I think bobbins have a secret organization whose sole purpose is to drive us crazy. They either poop out on you when you're almost done, or they tangle up on you - over and over again.

I usually have to wind the bobbins twice (the second time from one bobbin to the other) in order for my machine to be happy about them.

(My old workhorse singer machine was much more forgiving about this stuff, but, to be fair, this new Viking runs at least twice as fast on high-speed). I think that's got to account for some of it.)
