Well now you have an escape plan for when someone is angrily knocking on your door for whatever reason. (Removing all foreigners, you slept with his wife, whatever.) Glad you didn't injure yourself.

Or zombies, etc.

I'm pretty pleased with my lack of injury, myself.

Like I said, I'm not eager to have a repeat. :P

Hahaha that's fucking awesome! I'm amazed you didn't bust your ass in the 2nd step; that would've done me in for sure.

Well, to be fair, my feet were on the middle windowsill, with my hands on the top one.

Glad to hear you didn't get hurt. I actually happened to lock myself and my cat out of our new place this week, too. Luckily, some nice neighbors of ours took us in until Nathan got home. Weird that these both happened in the same week...

Might I suggest investing in a safety ladder? I'm guessing they'd sell them over there. I've heard of them for things like bedroom windows so you can quickly get out of the room during a fire. On the plus side, should a fire occur, hopefully you'd be able to do that again while the building burns.

Glad to hear you're safe. Is there no way you can leave a key on the balcony so it won't happen again?

The problem was more due to the way the doors are set up. They both open into the apartment, and they're close enough together that the outer door won't open enough for me to get my hand in around to open the inner door. Really, there was nothing to be done in that case except bounce on down.
