Georgia State Trooper in riot gear at a KKK protest in a north Georgia city back in the 80s. The Trooper is black. Standing in front of him and touching his shield is a curious little boy dressed in a Klan hood and robe.
Whoever dressed that child up like that is a rancid, repugnant and foul parent/parental figure.
Thanks for sharing this photo, however disturbing the content is it, and it is, it's still important that people realise that hate is learned and here is the proof.
Exactly. I like reminders that children are born curious and without hatred. They have to have the curiosity snuffed out and the hatred has to be taught.
This reminds me of a Pogo story I read years ago, about a little boy who was dressed in a Klan hood because of his father, and went to ask Pogo to save his dad from the evil nightmares haunting him, or something similar. I wonder if I still have it somewhere.
The cute child is probably mesmerized by his/her reflectuon in the shield. The person who had dressed it like this - not cute, to say the least. I never knew there still were KKK protests as recent as in the 1980s.

I love photos like this, that capture a small moment but are filled with so much thought and emotion.
