I love the birds - what is the purple bird? I've never seen one with that coloring!

It is a violet backed starling. They're really special birds, they come in spring and early summer to show off for about two months before pairing off and nesting. I once saw five on a single branch, they looked like little jewels.

Yes. And no sooner is it finished, but it starts breaking. The sink leaks, the shower head broke, the rats ate the sink trap, the doors won't lock right, the cabinets fling themselves open, the wiring is dodgy...sigh! We will get there. Sometime.

Not a lake - though I did put a fish pond in. I have about 20 tilapia. The idea was to raise them for food, but...but...now they have names. Oops.

You have a beautiful, welcoming and nicely crafted home. You can see the love you all put into it. You guys did a wonderful job. I hope it brings you and your family/friends many years of happiness. Oh, and those plants! Those birds! The view! You've put together such a haven. :)
