Tomorrow is the 4th of May, or indeed May the Fourth, and we're off in the morning to Auckland to see the first two original Star Wars films - with the NZ Symphony Orchestra playing the score. Yay!

Ohhhhh I envy you!! I’d surely have bought a ticket if I lived in NZ!!! Please enjoy!
But as for the security check... yes, it’s so sad that they have to do such things. When they say it’s for the security it’s hard to say No about it. And I think it might have some deterrent effect. But if someone determine to kill others it’s very hard to stop him, we can’t stop the terrorism completely with the security. We may need to find another way...
Well, stay safe and enjoy the show! May the force be with you!!

It was wonderful; especially the second film and music because the the Imperial March and all its variations. I will post about it all tomorrow as we've only been back an hour (after flying from Auckland to Christchurch, than 3 more hours driving home).

I already loved the Star Wars music, but even more so now. Everyone has their theme and that changes as they change - much more complex than I'd thought - and always very stirring.

Composer John Williams is retiring after the final Star Wars film which comes out at the end of the year, so he'll have done nine, and likens it to an opera cycle.
