Ali (and her co-conspirators) certainly know what they're on about. From the moment she wakes, Sasha's spirits ride high on the tide of delights supplied over the course of the day. She adores every gift, and revels in her lunch date.

And the proper birthday party at dinner? Is the icing on the cake.

...

It might be fair to say that the party is a whole additional cake, with buttercream frosting. Mmm-mm! The operative point is, she's overjoyed.

Ali et al are quite pleased that their efforts have been successful.

After the dinner plates have been cleared, and the children are tucking into their cake and ice cream, Ali gives Sasha a hug and whispers in her ear, "Ready for your presents?"

Hopefully she is, since the first one is already dangling around her neck when Ali pulls back again.

Sasha gasps softly as she feels the necklace settle upon her, then laughs in unalloyed joy. "I must be," she cedes, cradling the pendant in a hand to admire it. "Oh, love, it's beautiful! Thank you!"

Ali smiles, stepping back to let the girls gather around to admire it. Pretty soon Sasha's got a lapfull of goslings who want to "help", only slightly relieved by Ali's carrying Lyn around on her shoulders to help hand out the gifts. So, while the other girls bicker about who gets to borrow the necklace first and Morty tries to steal their cake, Ali and Lyn conference and decide on Sasha's next gift. This one is in a large box with an elaborate bow.
