It had been a long trek through the desert, one Alice had quite enjoyed. Pig was at her side as she wandered through the dusty streets, garnering a few puzzled stares. She had spent the early morning ceaselessly asking questions to any soul unfortunate enough to cross her path. Soaking up rumours, she had, by midafternoon, decided to pay the mines a visit.
Of course, it wasn't long before a stray cat caught her attention and she succumbed quickly to following mysterious animals into dark holes. She headed after it, distracted briefly from her desire to go peek around in dark, dangerous caverns like anyone just recently back from the dead would.
Someone following a cat around wasn't something Kloe saw every day. Especially when it was someone she considered a friend. From a short distance away, Kloe watched Alice follow the animal around. She figured Alice had to be more bored than she was, so after a minute or two Kloe approached with an amused expression plastered on her face.
Alice had caught up to the creature at last and knelt down, scratching behind it's ears. It was at least not feral but it seemed too thin to belong to anyone. Scooping up the creature, she turned to the sound of Kloe's voice.
"Doctor Kloe," she trotted over, demure as ever, the image only ruined by the carving knife kept in her apron string and the smatterings of blood that seemed to inexplicably appear on what should have been a relatively fresh dress. "I'm sorry, I didn't hear. You called to me?"
Kloe eyed the cat Alice was holding suspiciously, but all together ignored it.
"I said to leave the cat alone. You don't know where it's been," she stated, crossing her arms. "It could give you fleas." Which was clearly the worst thing that could possibly happen. Fleas.
Kloe wasn't the only one creeping around the city.
Since the moment they left Kevas had been waiting patiently for his moment. With the others there he had no chance of getting her while she was on her own. Now it was a different story.
Once they had hit Sabatier Kevas initially busied himself around town. It was only after a few hours had gone by that he slipped off to find Kloe. He already knew the layout of the town so finding her wasn't all that difficult and as he pulled the shadows around his body sneaking up on her wouldn't be all that difficult either.
Kevas was lucky Kloe was off her guard. She really didn't think this place was much of a threat, or the people who lived here, so she concluded her nightly walk without paying much attention to her surroundings.
And she certainly wasn't expecting someone from the group she'd spent the last week traveling with to attempt to do her in, either.
So she's blissfully walking about, Kevas, headed to where ever they were going to sleep that night.
Kevas briefly pondered whether he should do this quick or drag it out for a bit. Despite his anger, Kevas decided a quick kill would be best. The last thing he wanted was someone catching him in the act and a fight breaking out. No doubt this would get out sooner or later but Kevas would deal with that when the time came.
Silently Kevas increased his pace until he was right behind her. In a quick burst of motion Kevas reached around to grab her mouth while he drew his sword to run her through the back.
this thread'll take place last, i think <:abstinentzombieJuly 21 2011, 04:14:12 UTC
Kloe knew something was wrong a split second too late. She didn't even have enough time to turn around before Kevas made his move. Clearly it had been a horrible idea to let her guard down. Kloe was normally much more alert.
Oh well.
Kloe made a noise of surprise, which was quickly chocked out after Kevas jammed his stupid sword through her back. But hey, at least it was quick. Her knees gave out and the last thing she consciously thought was a quick string of obscenities.
Gojyo saw the group leaving for Sabatier and fell into the back of the group, saying little but figuring it was time to see a little of the native countryside.
Desert. Dirt. A mining town. It was different but in a weird way the same. Maybe he could deal with being here.
He took off on his own after they arrived in the hopes of finding a shop that sold cigarettes. A pack of cards would be nice too. Maybe one of those green crystals. The town, unfortunately, was the type of place that worked hard to maintain a fancy "podunk" image. There weren't any good shops or traders to speak of, and the people seemed to keep to themselves.
Once again, Gojyo was fucked. And not in the good way either. He turned a corner, considering whether or not to go poking around near the mines.
God-damn. That really hurt. Again. If this kept up, he was going to have a permanent Dr. Bishop-shaped bruise.
"If it isn't the lovely Doctor B," he replied, backing up a couple of steps. "I was watching where I was going. I watched every step right up until the moment I ran smack into you."
Kloe almost laughed. Almost. It didn't quite amuse her enough.
"If that were the case, you wouldn't have run into me. Again," she said, crossing her arms. Clearly she didn't account for the fact that it was probably actually her fault, but Kloe had never been the politest person on the block.
The trip to the desert town had been interesting to say the least. Upon arrival, Chrono, like the rest of the group, had ended up wandering off on his own to explore the area.
He can be found doing that now, walking though the streets aimlessly with his nameless capybara trotting behind him.

She backtracked quickly and gave him her best "what the hell is wrong with you look".
"What did I tell you about looking where you're going?"

Also, he was short.
"Hey! Purple-hair!" she hollered, several feet away. "Where you going?"

Chrono stops and turns around, looking back at Kloe.
"No where, really. I'm was just taking a look around."

"It's a shame there isn't much to look at."
