I loved Katie's reasons for helping Marcus. You had excellent backstory for both of them. I hated the way Lee behaved, but think it rang very true to how he might have reacted. I melted when Alicia showed up at the trial to support Katie--such an awesome friendship moment! Lucy is absolutely adorable, and I loved her and loved the sweet, hopeful ending! Such a wonderful story! Even though I'm late I'm glad I finally had a chance to read it! :)

I really struggled with Lee's reaction to Katie's attempts to help Marcus, but in the end, I think he was acting out of grief, and that sorta pushed him over the top. That's also whhy we never see Angelina -- she's always been Fred's soulmate in my head canon; she'd have been taking it even worse than Lee.

I also adore Lucy. She was such a present force in my head while I was writing.
