I’m a bit of a lurker but I’m trying to break the habit. When it comes to comments I always leave something. Unfortunately, it’s usually something short such as awesome work, I loved this, you rock and the like. With stories that truly touch me I always want to leave more but I find myself unable to express it. I’m not the most eloquent individual and I’m horribly shy. I hope my short reviews let authors know I adore them and their work. I don’t do constructive criticism but I would love to leave longer, more meaningful reviews. Also, I find that the more I delurk the more comfortable I am commenting and socializing. Everyone I’ve conversed with on lj have been kind and very welcoming.

Ah, so very true - thank you for sharing this. It's absolutely spot on and something I must keep in mind more when reading. I so often think 'I'll comment later' and of course then miss commenting at all because of getting caught up in one thing or another. Bad Writ! Must. Comment. More.

So important. I know I cherish every comment I get on my fics. Apart from ones which say "that sucked" of course :D
