[Have a Phoenix looking for his badge. He's harassing random villagers about a 'Small kinda goldish looking badge with the scales of justice on it' but of course, they know nothing about it. Which angers him even more. Currently, he's browsing the market area, seeing if anyone happens to be "selling" a gold badge that might look like his. That's when he notices the rabbit and oh, wasn't he the one with that clock gun?]

White. [He calls out to him, sliding up behind him and tapping his shoulder.] Hey, White, help me with something.

[ There's a pause, and he startles, completely lost in his own thoughts until Phoenix pulls him out of it. ]

Ah! It's you. What did you need? I'm not busy or anything, I suppose I could help...

[ Though he was planning to try and do something for Alice, so if it's quick he won't mind. Oddly enough, he probably won't mind if it isn't, either... ]

[He raises an eyebrow at that but shrugs it off, beginning to speak.]

I've lost my badge. It's... how can I put this so you can understand... imagine if you lost your clock, [He gestures to the clock-gun.] You wouldn't feel very good about it, would you?

Now, I have my suspicions about where it could have gone, but the villagers aren't very helpful. I wanted to see if you would ... be of assistance in helping me find it. [Well he didn't seek out Peter especially, just anyone who was pretty threatening and would maybe listen to Phoenix. He might have even asked Shizuo but that is a completely different story.]

... I suppose I wouldn't, considering I need it. Then again, it depends on which clock you mean, of course.

[ Peter laughs, shrugging it off. ] But you don't know for sure who took it? I suppose I can help--you're rather strange, you know... you don't carry a gun at all. Ah! Perhaps... is that why you haven't tried to kill who you thought took it?

[ ... Well. Old habits die hard, and regardless, most life was worthless to him. Though today he'd been more aware of how painful death might be, so perhaps he shouldn't try to kill foreigners, if they can't be fixed. ... Right? It's a little confusing, really. ]

[Vash is just looking around, glaring at everyone. The glow in his eyes has gone away by now, but he's still in a pretty bad mood. Especially when he sees Peter.]

Hey, Rabbit Man. What are you doing here?

[ Peter is still himself--he's not stupid, so he immediately keeps a grip on his watch. ]

... Do I need a reason to be here? [ He's such a bad liar right now, and his ears give him away, really. He's standing at attention--it's clear he's ready to flee if he has to. But he'd defend himself if he ended up cornered--for Alice, of course. He had to live for her.

If he could really die here, well... nah. ... He'd... be fine, right? ]

[Vash looks bored, takes out his gun, and starts spinning the cylinder of it with his thumb as if he has nothing else to do.]

No, it's just that being here means that your life will end sooner than usual. But you knew that already, right? Man, some people just want to cut to the chase.

[He stops spinning the cylinder and holds the gun up at Peter.]

So, what's it going to be? Are you going to give me a good game to play, or are you going to die there and not give me any fun at all?

Sorry, but I'll have to take you up on that offer some other time. You see, only one game really matters to me... and you're not a part of it.

[ And he points his own gun at the other, the watch immediately turning into a pistol without so much as a flinch. He doesn't hesitate, though. That's because he's not aiming to kill when he begins firing a few shots at the other--his real goal is to distract him for long enough that he can escape through a nearby store.

He wasn't the White Rabbit without reason. As soon as he finds an opening, he takes off running away from a crowd of people--he didn't want anyone getting hurt. Odd as that was, he hadn't even noticed that he generally hadn't cared before now, either. ]

Alice is, of course, standing off to the side, not being jealous at all. She looks down and away, in the direction of...a bench, or a person. She's not really paying attention at this point, so it doesn't matter.

It's odd for her to admit that...after everything that she and Peter had been through, she feels somewhat bad for being so mean to him all the time. But there he is, with another woman. How depressing. In the back of her mind, she thinks of being cross with him for being around such a young lady, but for some reason she can't make herself say anything.

So there she stands a bit awkwardly. Trying to decide on what she wants to do.

... He hasn't even noticed at first. Which is odd, considering he usually had a radar that told him when the girl was nearby. Regardless, once he does see her, he doesn't immediately attempt to tackle her, but he does seem worried.

"Alice! Oh, I'm glad you're okay... you are okay, aren't you? Do you have a fever, or anything? You're not still sick, right...?"

That part of Peter probably couldn't be changed even if you wanted it to; he cared too much for the girl then to just let her be, unless she wanted it that way.

Somewhat surprised to see him paying attention to her, she glances away shyly, not meeting his eyes.

"I don't think I'm sick," she murmurs softly. "Who was that you were talking to?"

He seems to brighten a bit more at that. Oh, good. She wasn't ill after all! He's so happy about this, he hasn't seemed to have noticed she's acting so oddly.

"Thank goodness! I haven't seen you much, and you'd been acting so tired... I'm glad you're feeling better." There's a pause, and then it hits him she'd seen him talking to the other girl.

"O-oh, don't worry! It was just some girl who pushed me into that weird glowing plant. I'd never cheat on you! ♥"

... Looks like some things never change. "I can't believe you're interested in what I was doing, Alice." He's practically beaming. It was like his life was now fulfilled.

[He was enjoying a walk--the weather is actually quite nice here, really, once you get used to it--when he sees Peter. Oh...It's the White Rabbit that had threatened to kill him, and that he was supposed to kill.

But now the thought of killing someone else, even the White Rabbit, just horrifies Alice, and he is offering the other a smile and a wave before he knows what is happening.]

Hello! It's a pretty nice day, isn't it?

It is!

[ Someone is extremely happy because Alice is well and he's well and all is right with the world. If he realizes who he's talking to, he hasn't said anything or shown sign of it. ]

Then again, it's hardly a day when the time is so linear here... but I suppose it could be worse.

Linear? Should time not be linear?

[Blink. Blink. Then he adds, a little flustered:]

Oh, if you don't mind me asking, of course!

[ If he's offended, he doesn't even REALIZE it. In fact, he seems to not even know that 'Alice' was who he was looking for to kill a few days ago.

Peter laughs at his question. ]

No, of course not! Time is very unorganized. Role-Holders should be able to change the day to whatever they want--tea parties in the middle of the night, for example. [ He pauses for a moment, and sighs. ]

Ah, but it doesn't work... an hour unable to change another? It's utterly ridiculous.

"Um, excuse me." The voice was weak, hesitant, and probably easily ignored if the owner hadn't reached out to grab Peter's sleeve. "I-I'm sorry to bother you... But I wanted to apologize for my behavior yesterday. I was... just awful to you when you were trying to help." Tears appear in Alice's eyes as she peers up at him, almost begging him for forgiveness.

Whoa, what a change. ... He'd feel bad if he said no. So how could he?

"Oh, it's fine. Don't worry about it; you were just abducted, after all. I suppose none of us are too happy in this position."

He pauses. "Just... don't get the wrong impression--you're nice, but I'm already with another Alice, and I don't want her to end up thinking I'm neglecting her or having an affair."

Alice shook her head violently. "O-Oh, no, I understand. I-I have my manservant." Wait, manservant? That wasn't very nice, was it? She made a mental note to do something nice for Oz later. "We can be friends though, right?"

stalker_rabbit March 16 2010, 23:48:54 UTC
... He tilts his head, as if he doesn't understand what 'friends' really means.

"... Friends?" Wasn't that the same as lovers? He didn't clearly get that, apparently. Having friends was a new thought to Peter. "You mean... acquaintances?"
