Comings and goings

Placing my faith in ang5fam's assertion that the water department takes several days to deposit checks, I swung by there after visiting the library and floated a check for $100, which will take care of my bill and then some. That won't work for FPL (power), so I'm going to hold my breath and hope that they won't cut me off at the stroke of Thursday ( Read more... )

Generation Kill is a seven-ep HBO miniseries which aired last summer (DVDs came out at Xmas, so are available for renting - and I highly highly recommend viewing them). it's based on a book by the same name, written by a Rolling Stone reporter who was embedded with Recon Marines advancing into Iraq in 2003. He wrote several articles about his experience, then turned them into an excellent book. a secondary source of canon info for the fandom is Nate Fick's book (One Bullet Away) which outlines his experiences prior to enlisting through OCS and then covers his time in Afghanistan and the GK period. He made it to captain before leaving the service to pursue an MBA at Harvard, and is now a big name at the CNAS (Center for a New American Security) a military think tank in DC, which has been making a name for itself recently.

the fandom is so damn full of awesome! the very best introduction is probably hackthis's pimping post - she nailed all the really awesome stuff (and included tons of pictures ( ... )

(It took them almost a week for mine.)

That won't work for FPL (power),
(Are you on a cash basis with them? And no, they should not cut you off at the stroke of midnight. If it is your final notice type of deal, I would get up VERY early and take care of that on Friday. I know you don't usually do early, but sometimes...) :)

run up to the ATM at WalMart for cash and hit the pay station on the way home
(Wal-Mart??? Ears perking up! Did you say Wal-Mart? I know I just heard you say Wal-Mart! LOL!) Want a ride in the morning? LOL!

I'd love to get with you to shop, but Sunday after church would really be better, because I am short on sleep at the moment and have to go to work in the afternoon. (I figure I'll do FPL pay by phone, it requires the minimum amount of effort. I am slothy.)

LOL! That works! (Tis a better time for me as well, as it is 10:30am and I just got up a bit ago.) This is not like me! I'm 4 hours past the time that I normally get up!! Egads! Evidently my body decided it needed some rest and didn't tell me. Just snuck in there ... LOL ( ... )

FPL has my bank info stored so that when I call in and go through the prompts, they ask if I want to pay with the bank account info previously stored. I press '1' for yes, enter the dollar amount, and it's done. (Just got through with that a couple of minutes ago, so I'm safe.) Only thing about that method is, it takes a couple of days to show up, so with me being a flaky blonde, I have to made a note that the money isn't really 'there'. No, it doesn't cost extra.

There's a pay station on Clearlake next to the Sleven where you can pay cash if you're so inclined. THEY charge a fee, I think it's $1.25, which is helpful for folks who don't have bank accounts.

Okay, so Sunday, you wanna pick me up? 2PM? Wanna go to the big Wally in Viera, maybe grab lunch?
