Evening 007

It came to my attention early in my arrival here that the City has a great lack of performances. No plays, no concerts, nothing. This complete lack of culture is quite disturbing really. And that was when the Doctor came up with a brilliant idea.

He has read my books and believes that I should hold a concert here ( Read more... )

music, performance, request, opera house

Hmpf. I agree about the complete lack of culture. This wouldn't have ever happened in our world.

We were practicing for a ballet. Swan Lake. How ironic. But the performance has been canceled.

If you're interested about music, contact Mister Erik.

It certainly would not have been tolerated in my world either.

Canceled? What a tragedy!

Oh? Is he an expert on the subject?

Swan Lake can't be danced if one of the leads is an actual swan during the performance. We're very realistic but honestly...

Erik? He's a genius.

You waste your time asking what the crowd favors.

And why is that?

They have horrible taste.

Taste is a matter of opinion and twists and turns for each person.

Something... Latin.

Something we can dance to.

Something to dance to. That would certainly be entertaining!

So many people in this city are... too uptight. They need to let a little rythm into their lives.

I fully agree. Loosening them up with dance would be a worthwhile experience.

You're a musician as well? How lovely. It's been a while since I've seen any performances here.

I am. Are you one too?

Ah, a little. My boyfriend is the real musician. I merely play backup guitar for him, heh. What kind of music do you perform, sir?

Is your boyfriend here, my dear? I play whatever I wish to. I have found I love music in general and have a gift for any instrument. Though, my heart is very fond of the violin.

Oh, that's a wonderful idea! You simply must have a concert, Lestat!

By the way, I've been meaning to tell you - I think we should have a chat over tea soon. We have lots to talk about.

I will! What music would you like to hear?

A chat would be lovely. However, I must refrain from accepting the tea but the offer is still very kind. But do tell, what do we need to discuss?

I assumed you'd sing the music from your group - the songs that were in your book.

And that's what I've been wanting to tell you: I read the books. Two of them, at least.

You read them then! Wonderful!

And I can certainly do a few of my songs. However, that would require putting a band together.

Are you free now? I would love for you to come over so that we might talk of my books. I could even play you a few things on the violin I just bought tonight.
