May 16, 2011 00:01

[There is fumbling and static, as there so often is when you're trying to figure out technology a few decades more advanced than anything you've ever seen before. After a moment the feed clears up and a mans voice comes through. It's kind of obvious that he's not entirely sure how the Pokégear works or if there's actually a transmission going on ( ( Read more... )

Why thank you. I always thought I was quite the beast myself, but the nurses never seemed to agree.

Oh. [turning his attention towards the bizarre duck] How come you always get all the attention.

[and back at you] So... you from around here or out of town?

[Sorry man, this kid is just going to start laughing a bit.] You're looking for a psychiatrist cause you don't think this is real, huh? I'd pinch you if I were in New Bark Town so you could see you weren't waking up.

[oh hey look he found the video function kind of. You get a nice upside-down shot of his Psyduck for a few seconds before the camera swings up, giving you a just as lovely shot of Hawk's weathered visage.]

I'm not looking, I already found one. What else would a quack be if not a duck? And I think I recognize a delusion when I see one, they bite me in the tukhus often enough.

Makes sense, though I don't know if the Psyduck will be able to help you out with much. Apparently, they have constant headaches, according to my dex. [He has to cross his arms a bit here with a skeptical expression.]

Yeah? And just how hard do delusions bite?

That just proves it - what would a psychiatrist be without a headache? [waitaminnit] Your what.

I could drop my pants and show you the scars but you'd have to buy me dinner first.

[Awwww, what a funny looking duck Pokemon! She saw them a few times when they stopped in Cherrygrove, now what was it's name...]

You were given a Psyduck for a starterr, if I remember its species correctly.

[Sup Hawk, this girl looks rather... ageless, if he were to try and guess her age, with long white hair and red eyes. And if he's any bit religious or sensitive to Gods? lol I'm thinking this is hilarious He may be able to see the red markings on her skin as if they were tattoos.

Offering a warm smile, Ammy has to glance to the side where a nosy Poochyena is very much wanting to see what his trainer is looking at.]

[Well hello there pretty lady! He's vaguely agnostic at best so those markings remain completely invisble but he's pretty happy to see her nonetheless.]

A starter..? I've been to some pretty fancy restaurants in my day but I've never come across one with food this fresh.

[Are you traumatized yet?]

[Having helped at a restaurant briefly, the term isn't all that lost on her. Ammy did give a laugh, shaking her head as she adjusts her feed to show her Houndour. The dark furred canine only snuffed quietly and looked away, but the action prompted a giggle out of the girl again.]

The Pokemon received on arrrival is referred to as a starterr. My Oki was the first one I received. [Oki is the name, even if it's mildly ... strange.]

Oh! Oh, that does make a lot more sense. [Not really but he's willing to just accept it for now and oh man she's really kind of cute. Reminds him a little of all the Korean girls that stopped by the camp ever so often - a little odd, a little exotic but really quite adorable. Good job Ammy, he likes you already. You get a smile! ]

Oki, huh? That's a pretty good name for a dog.

[Listening to this feed, for Heather, is a little like listening to one of those trick recordings where it SOUNDS like someone is making sense, until you actually listen to the words.]

[Whuzzuhhh....?]

... Hepatitis.

[Welcome to the wonderful world of Hawkeye's mind. I hope you don't mind things not making any sense, that's practically par for the course when it comes to him.]

Oh, so you're familiar? We used to have an outbreak every spring back at the 4077th. Like daffodils, only you couldn't put it in a vase.

[Not to worry, Heather's pretty used to things not making sense. Silent Hill wasn't exactly the epitome of logic and normalcy. But all the same, she lifts a serious brow.]

Like daffodils. Huh. Guess I can't say I've heard that one before.

Mind if I ask you a question, mister?

Doctor Freedman? Is that the name of your Psyduck?

It's the name of my head shrink. I thought it might be him but the more I look at this thing the more it resembles Radar. Same size and everything.
