Sometimes on nature walks I will confess that, until I am able to confidently see and identify a vireo, I don't consider myself a "real" birder. That day has still not come. fascinating backstory and photo. i've always enjoyed birdwatching but because of a hearing loss will never be great at id-ing them by song. i envy those who are.
