This is basically perfect.

Rebekah is not Katherine, and she probably won't enjoy seeing him fall apart, but it doesn't matter. She is close enough to make him shiver, and this story is all about him anyway.

This. THIS. Because it is all about him. Damon just wants to feel and he doesn't care how they do it. This whole thing is set up so beautifully to show that Damon doesn't feel unless he's being hurt. Just gorgeous.

Also, A+ for throwing Stefan being first in there!
