I love that this all says so much more about Katherine and what she expects of Damon - then an actual description of him. What meaning he carries for her - how she defines herself and against and with both of the Salvatar brothers. It'll be interesting to see what happens if/when Damon stops being the person she needs him to be. Because: then what will happen to Katherine? Who will she be if Damon is someone else?

I guess Katherine would be just the way she was before she met them. She needs Damon (she needs him to be the Damon she knows), but it doesn't define her; she doesn't depend on it. If Damon stops being who she wants him to be, she'll just move on. But I wonder if Damon ever will be able to stop being this person :).

I keep thinking if she really would. Or rather - if she really can tell, after all those years, what she would or wouldn't have done. But she likes the idea, so maybe there is something there :).
