Mom needing care

First, don't leave your mom in a place you term as awful. There are good places that care about elderly. We paid 1900 for a great place in wealthy area of town when others wanted 4300, & she was well treated. Use the long term care policy but wisely. If she has PC she may not live to use it. My husband just passed with PC. Even tho' he had all symptoms doctors would not heed it saying he didn't have it - so make sure you keep pursuing it if your gut tells you somethings wrong. Don't let yourself get down or you will be no help to anyone. And if you're in good facility & your funds run out Medicare will take over & most places will keep you if you've been there for long. May God's blessings surround you, Marsha

Thank you Marsha. I'm sorry for your loss. I will be getting her out of there as soon as I can. Now they are trying to back bill us for months we have already paid for if you can believe it. I think we have chosen a good place for her. I haven't found any of the $1900 places you speak of. They all seem to be $3000 or more. If you don't mind me asking, how did they finally determine it was PC for your husband? I took Mom to a GI doctor and requested some tests I've read about. I showed him my research and suspisions, but I get the feeling he wasn't listening at all. This has been a common problem for us and has been for many PC suffers I've heard. If I just knew the right doctor to go to or the right test to be done. Thanks.
