Miscellany (mostly TV stuff and links)

It's been one of those weeks (or so) where I keep meaning to post and almost forgetting that I haven't, so anything I was going to say falls off the "surely that's taken care of" edge ( Read more... )

tv: the vampire diaries, tori amos, fandom, meat-puppetry

Olivia x 2! I love Lincoln(s) too. And I was completely confused when [spoiler] suddenly appeared, but then I realized it was because the thing that happened in last season's finale meant that [spoiler] didn't [spoiler]. Which is awesome.

(Where is Nina, though? Blair Brown is in the credits but I don't recall seeing her yet.)

Olivia is made of too much awesome for this world. ^_- Or any one world, anyway.

Reverse engineering which events presumably have and haven't happened makes my head hurt a little, but not in a bad way. I like the little (???) things, too, like things having played out different with her stepfather.

I don't think Nina's been there. :/ I'd like her back!

I should send you an entirely unrelated email. I'll go do that.

Some of those drawings of Connie (I assume her name is) are rather frightening. I kept scrolling through to see if I recognized anyone. I don't.

I must say I am intrigued by your "meat-puppetry" tag...

And thus far I've only heard Tori's new album once. Her daughter and her niece are singing with her on it. I think I like it.

I have no context at all for the series the character came from. ^^ I just thought it was visually neat.

I've head NoH a few times now, and some songs a lot. It's not really my thing in the way most of her albums are, but I think it's very good. And her niece and Tash did great work.

Yeah, it's very conceptual in it's execution. But it definitely grew on me. I mean, I know there's a whole story she's telling, but even without that aspect, I think you can still listen to the individual songs and not need to worry about the story aspect of it.

I was kind of taken aback when I heard it playing at my local bookstore the other day. It was a pleasant surprise.

Psst. I have been listening to this really great Fruits Basket Radio Drama and I keep forgetting to post this to you as I thought it might be something you would find interesting. Fan made and the actors are really great. They're going off of an adapted script of the manga.
