Insanity, Day 51

Mar 08, 2011 21:25

I really hate these two workout days, especially days like today. Today, I had to do another Fit Test and then I had to follow up with Max Interval Circuit. The Fit Test wasn't so bad, but I think I may have exerted a lot of energy trying to beat my previous marks. I was really tired for the second part of my workout, and I wonder if this was an effect of going pretty hard in the first half hour.

First let us look at my latest Fit Test results. My previous results can be found here.

My Fit Test results this time around:

Switch Kicks: 67
Power Jacks: 52
Power Knees: 95
Power Jumps: 40
Globe Jumps: 11
Suicide Jumps: 16
Push-Up Jacks: 34
Low Plank Oblique: 70

My numbers increased across the board other than the Switch Kicks. My number actually went down there. Another trend I can see is that I tend to tire during the second half of the Fit Test. The second part also includes two jumps and it follows Power Jumps, which is the exercise I hate the most. I think I use up a lot of energy trying to get a good number for the Power Jumps, and then I have to follow that up with two more jumping routines. I'm pretty tired by the middle of the Globe Jump routine. I should be able to do better with the Push-Up Jacks. I had to stop in the middle, and that really killed my momentum.

With the Max Interval Circuit this time around, like I mentioned, I felt pretty weak today. I would think that at some point my cardio would get better, but it was pretty bad today. I was very short of breath during the workouts, and I just felt really weak in the middle. I felt like I didn't have much left in reserve.

I wonder if I should have broken up my workouts into two different sessions: the Fit Test in the morning and the Max Interval Circuit after work. As it happened, I did both routines back to back after work. Maybe I didn't have much left in my system. Or maybe my lingering cough is doing a number on my lungs. Or maybe, I just didn't push hard enough in the last couple of weeks, and I'm still paying for it. The rest of my body feels fine. I was just out of breath during most of Max Interval Circuit. That's a bit alarming, especially since I'm starting the second to last week of the program. My cardio should be in better shape.

I'm going to chalk this up to a one day phenomenon. Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow. If this continues, I may have to re-evaluate what I'm doing.

51 days down.
