mass storage

Secondary memory systems that i've used over the years include (in vague and convoluted order of capacity):
  • 2kB NVRAM card-slightly larger than a CF card-for a little Casio pocket computer
  • 140 and 180kB per side 5¼" flip-floppies
  • 360 and 1200kB properly double-sided 5¼" floppies
  • 400, 720, 800, and 1440kB [which is, by no sane means 1.44MB] 90mm (3½") ( Read more... )

memory, technology, storage, fixed disk, floppy disk, hard disk, computer

Wow I did not clothes count as mass storage? What no zip 100,250 carts. No Syquest 44,88, 135 or other carts?

Take Care,

[Clothing spam? A first for me.]

Never touched Zip.

Frankly I wish that Sony had aggressively marketed MD-data-higher capacities in a smaller package. Oh well, that's the industry for ya. All moot now-though there's always more. (I suspect that USB3 will be the next big disappointment-much like USB2 with 480Mb/s but in only 10% duty-cycle bursts. But anyway.

Hmm. I wonder if "flip-floppies" is what attracted the clothing spam. Don't remember what it said anymore. (Flip floppies are double-sided floppy disks that have been modified to allow using them upside-down in a single-sided drive.)
