She'd sensed his restlessness when he looked at her -- she'd seen that look in his eyes before. She knew what it meant.
"While you're doing that, Rupert," she got up from the table, closing her own book, "I'm gonna run downstairs -- see if maybe there are any books still packed away down there that might help us."
He nodded. "Good idea."
With that, she set off for the cellar, the worn wooden stairs creaking with her every step as the door gently shut behind her. She threw a glance up at it before taking the final step onto the concrete floor, looking around at all the shelves of merchandise.
One item in particular caught her eye -- the Orb of Thesulah -- and she moved toward it, picking it up from its nest of crushed velvet and watching it glow. She remembered the dream, with her Uncle Enyos, in which the Orb had sat in place of a crystal ball. She hefted it in her hand and set it down again, a soft melody coming to her.

Once Dawn and Buffy had left, he and Jenny closed up shop and decided to head home for the night. As it had been such a pleasant, cool morning, they had opted to walk to the shop. Now, with how chilly it had become after nightfall, Giles was half-regretting that decision
