"That's exactly what I'm saying. She sent me on a one-way recon."

Jenny's brows lifted at that, hardly surprised by the information. Firstly, there were her brief encounters with Professor Walsh on school grounds. Jenny's first week, she tried making polite conversation with her, only to get nothing but curtness in return.

Then, there was what Rupert had told her about his momentary encounter with her, in which she basically accused him of being an absentee father-figure to Buffy. Which hadn't gone over well with either of them. So needless to say, this didn't seem entirely out-of-character for the woman ( ... )

Buffy shrugged, clearly at a loss. "I don't know. Uh... she wasn't keen on the fact that I was asking a lot of questions, that's for sure ( ... )

"Rupert..." she reprimanded softly.

"Jenny! I will not squat in that dank hole."

"What? It was good enough for me, but you're above it all?" Spike raised his eyebrows at him.

"Precisely." She watched as he took a seat at his desk. "Besides, I don't see why we can't stay right where we are." Chuckling, he said, "Because it's very unlikely that those Initiative boys are going to come around here looking for--"

The door burst open then, startling everyone, as Riley strode in looking alarmed. "Buffy!" Closing the door, he rushed over to her. "God, Buffy. Are you okay? What happened?"

"You know?"

Leaning close to Rupert, Jenny murmured lowly, "England, what was that you were saying about the likelihood of the Initiative bursting in here?"

When he glared, she grinned triumphantly.
