i heard from moeha quite a bit ago that you wanted to go to the UK for university, how are things coming along at the moment?

thank you! and from your LJ posts, i can see you're definately having a fab summer yourself (regardless of having kitkats or not)!

I really did, but it made absolutely no sense financially or anything (think $18,000 vs $2,500, haha!). I'll be staying here in Ottawa for another year at one of the city's unis, which is better for my wallet and for the program I'll be taking. BUT I want to take an exchange to London next year! So it's not toooo too bad staying here!

hope to see you in london next year then! my parents are pressuring me to exchange to canada after my first year, but we have to see how our financial situation is like later on.

it was difficult for me to keep in touch with people from both KGV and my new school..I kept in contact with a few though purely from having each other on MSN/seeing each other at uni or something but yeah. it can be difficult but if you're determined to put in the effort, it can work.

after I left high school i kind of had a year of work so I kind of got a taste of the real world - as far as starting uni was concerned it was a fresh new start for me.

i think the most worrying thing for me is just drifting apart. eversince summer started, it seems like everyone has changed quite a bit, heading off into their own directions.

i am so jealous! i wanted to take a gap year as well but my parents were all no-s. what type of job did you have?

unfortunately you'll find that happens - i think its a result of people scared about losing the people they know now and the thought of growing up and gaining a new found independence.

lol it was just a menial part time job in a supermarket, its alright but i wouldn't call it a career choice :D

it seems as though the kids who went on to the same unis keep in touch because its easy- you bump into eachother most days etc. i keep in touch with good friends, but its hard as well because i came from a pretty fucking academic school so everyones insane with studying, and with all the work uni gives us...

but most people have agreed that the end of highschool doesnt feel like we've all split up. it just feels like everyones taken different subjects and arent in eachothers classes :)

people still invite the same people to parties and stuff so they're always good to catch up

its pretty easy to keep in touch though, what with the internet and everyone having their own mobile phones and stuff :)

you make me miss asia!!! i miss asian food :(

especially different when everyone is off to be bigtime lawyers or doctors! i'm so jealous that you still see your friends so easily. for me, i'm going to be in a small town in uk (hopefully), so takes around 3 hours to get to london and a heck lot more hours to get to hong kong or america. SNAIL MAIL! <3

come to hong kong! tripe and other yummy internal parts are waiting for you! :)

i felt the same way about it when i graduated and i still do! it's a life changing experience, at least for me. i never would have thought of living alone in a city before. i learn something new each day here.

i think the best thing to do is to stay positive. and yes i still keep in touch with my high school friends :)

(i really miss your posts, glad to see you back!)

for me it is the entire opposite! i am nervous and scared of living in a small town by myself, i am definately a city girl at heart.

i should be more active around LJ later on <3 last posts before leaving my beloved city!

"do you still keep in contact with people from high school?"

i guess the only way to be still "like the old days" with ur friends is that both of you still want to keep the relationship, even tho it'll be long distant.

after my form5.. all.. and i mean all.. my friends left for overseas... most to unis... but we are all still as close and tight as before... well except for one/two that is cuz they seemed to have moved on without us... aniwais... even tho u might not talk alot online with them... if ur gd friends.. it'll work out in the end =) no worries~

for most, everything is back to normal when we meet up and stuff but over msn and phone, it just doesn't seem to work. but i guess we all have to stay optimistic!
