“It’s good to have friends,” Xander said as he entered the BAU conference room where six FBI agents were sitting. He immediately walked over to the blonde agent. “I’m Xander Harris, IC operative.”

“Agent Jareau,” she took his extended hand. “What can we do for you?”

“We believe this is one of ours,” he told her. “Instead of stomping all over your feet I thought I’d get confirmation.”

“One of yours?” Lanky guy asked.

Jareau immediately introduced the room. She ended with Penelope Garcia who walked in with a file and tablet. She dropped the file in front of Agent Reid and took her spot.

“Garcia,” Hotchner said, “this is-”

“Alexander Lavelle Harris,” Garcia provided with a nod. “He’s a member of the International Council and was granted permission to sit in to determine if this high-profile case is something they handle.”

“Who did you verify with?” Rossi asked. He kept his gaze on the eye-patched man who did not tense or get offended.

“The FBI Director confirmed for me,” Garcia told them. “Then the-the Director of the CIA and Secret Service basically called to say - Yes this guy needs to see this and if he deems it’s his wheelhouse let him have it.”

The team looked at Xander who shrugged. “We have a niche that people appreciate.”

“Get us started, Garcia,” Hotchner suggested.

“Okay,” she turned and clicked a remote at the large screen behind her. “We have Damon Roach, 52. He’s been a Republican House Representative from Virginia for five years. He was found in his house disemboweled late last night by his wife and two children who just got back from Florida.” She clicked again to show the grisly scene of a body with guts trailing out and around the room. “The bowels were strung up to form this.” She switched to a picture of the pentagram. “They don’t have any explanation for how it is stuck to the wall but it does not appear to be pinned.” Garcia swallowed and kept her gaze from the screen.

“What about a blood message?” Xander asked. He sat on the edge of his seat.

“Yes,” Reid said as Garcia clicked the button to show another. Displayed was the word ‘rectus’ with a human heart above it.

“Dammit,” Xander stood suddenly and pulled out his cell phone. He hit a button and held it to his ear. “Yeah, it’s me. This is one of ours. A slatchah, looks to be the same as Russia last year and London two years ago.” He paused, listening, his face growing darker. “I don’t care. Tell Rona to get her ass armed and out here or I’ll put her on mini’s duty and she can stay that way until Christmas.” Whatever was said made him sigh and give a reluctant smile. “Good. Also call Faith and find out how she handled this and find out who handled it in London. I need details and strategy.” He hung up the phone and looked around the room. “This is one of ours.”

“What is a slatchah?” Morgan asked looking at Reid who gave him a bewildered look.

“Bastardized Ancient Egyptian term,” Xander told them. He rubbed his cheekbone under his missing eye. “It basically is a call for justice. Generally happens to political figures. Supposed to be a warning to right the ways or punish them for something they’ve done to the detriment of their people.” He shook his head in irritation. “We have about a week to track down the one who did this before there is another one.”

“Well,” Jareau said. “This suggests someone who has no problem getting their hands dirty.”

“And the detail work on the wound are minimal, almost surgical.” Reid told them flipping through the rest of the report. “There were no reports of noise by the neighbors. And there is no clear time of death, though it looks like he was alive while his bowels were extracted.”

“There’s also very little blood.” Rossi noted. “Around the room itself, there should be blood splatters, drops, and arterial spray. But except for the messages and around the body… it’s clean.”

The Scooby Doo theme started playing. Xander reached into his pocket and pull out his phone. “Yeah?” He started pacing slightly. “Good, I’ll let them know and meet Rona at the crime scene.” He ended the call and looked at them. “This case has officially been given to the IC.” He studied them all for a beat. “Hopefully we’ll have this handled before there is another body.” He gave them all a wave. “Nice to meet you all.”

Morgan looked at his teammates. “Well, that’s that.”

“I do have another case,” Garcia said. “This was at the top of our list because of the political connection but I have a backup since there was a chance of it being taken away.” She handed another file to Reid and pressed several buttons on her remote to bring up a picture of three people. “Glendale, Arizona…”
