I had a near panic attack about my upcoming human geography exam today @_@; What the christ. The whole subject is rather... vague. Incredibly interesting, but... vague. Everything is explained as being part of a complicated process, so I'm not really looking forward to being asked to define terms and models for my exam. I feel like I've got a basic ( Read more... )

Don't you just love requirements that have zilch impact on your actual education =/

Huh? What requirements? If you're referring to the human geography class I can say that I I chose to take that subject on my own. It's not a required subject at all, I just thought it seemed interesting 8D I've taken a bunch of classes "on the side" of my bachelor degree. I like learning new stuff.

OMG, tired me should not comment. For some reason I read that as you had to take it even though it wasn't part of your degree. I'll be over here, in the corner, taking a cat nap, LOL

eta: had to take it and didn't like it <--- see, VERY TIRED

Lulz that's okay XD Easy mistake to make. Most degrees requires you to take a bunch of subjects that don't make much sense in regard to the final degree. For instance, all students at the University of Oslo (and all universities in Norway~) are required to take a subject called examen philosophicum , which is about philosophy and critical thinking (to better prepare us for our higher education and to teach us how to use critical thinking when studying etc. etc.). It can be interesting at times, but it also seems rather pointless @_@;

Now.. go take that nap XD;;; Sounds lovely. Mmmm naps.

Cute icon :)
Good luck with your exam preparations! Geography is a great elective. It's not related to my degree either, but it's still so useful to know.

Haha thanks :)

Well it's not geography as such. Is human geography which is a study of the concept of place and why places changes (and how places are basically a result of social processes) rather than the study of.. uhm.. where stuff's at. XD It's very interesting and the topic covers everything from how we moved from being hunter-gatherers to being a market based society to urbanisation of cities and what part gated communities play in today's society 8D

We touched on some of that in my current geography class, but that sounds really neat to go into in-depth. Now I want to look into that course for next year!
