Especially went you spend a night watching something so extravagant and beautiful as the Cirque Du Soleil. Last night I spent several hours watching some of the most expressive art I can say I've ever witnessed. For a moment I stopped to think in mist of all the beauty, laughter, and awe of the amazing show of human spirit why the human race engages itself in things such as war. It's so saddening to see what we as human beings can accomplish with a little time and similar thought through a show that makes you feel alive and right in the world. It makes fighting seem so petty and yet at the same time makes you really realize that the people of Iraq don't get to partake in such amazement. To watch the sheer wonderment of peoples faces and how edge of the seat everyone was cheering on these individuals as they perform unbelievable acts of human strength, grace, and invoke the purest of laughter. If you've never seen the Cirque Du Soleil I beseech you to consider going while they are here in Atlanta. I had an opportunity once before when I lived in Chicago but at the time I wouldn't have appreciated the marvel. This is taken right out of the program and I can tell you it is just an inkling of the truth about the show.
"Ciqrue Du Soleil is far more then mere entertainment. it is an expression of the depths of human perseverance, emotion and beauty. To see a Cirque show is to witness a spectacular metaphor of the bittersweet struggle of life and the co-existence of joy with melancholy."
I guess how would we know laughter and love if we didn't know sadness and hate. But It's hard to see why we fight when your surrounded by such beautiful art and people.
