I have no idea if this film is available in English, too, since it’s based on a German book and has been brought to the big screen as a German production. Funny enough, since the story mainly takes place in London, all letters and books etc. the characters find are in English.

I listened to the audiobooks of that trilogy during long hours on the highway and quite liked them. I am not sure I'd have bothered to read the books. They are quite teeny, even for my taste. To me, the first movie was another proof for germany trying to imitate Hollywood and failing big time. It is rather embarassing to watch german actors acting like they were Blockbuster-stars. Don't take this the wrong way - there are many german movies I like, but sadly they are never shown on big screens.

Oh yes, they certainly made some odd choices actor-wise. You know, I'm not a big fan of German films and tv-productions, so I don't know that many German actors ... but surely there must have been some that fit their roles better or are better at their job?
