(Sorry if this is a double post. It looks like I forgot to hit a necessary button when I tried earlier.)
20) When John ran in and 'confronted' Allan, I thought he might actually choke him to death. Poor Allan! He seemed to be squeezing his poor throat a little bit too realistically there!
When I was watching that scene on my computer, Allan's voice deepened. I thought it was very effective, and an interesting acting choice, and I wondered how, technically, Joe Armstrong did it. Then Robin's voice came out deeper, too. Turns out it way my media player acting up!
Much's face was a mask of dismay - I don't know anyone who can portray so much emotion in a single look.
I agree completely. When Allan was accused of betraying the gang during the camp scene, Much's expressions were just devastating. He had a look of disbelief - he seemed so torn - then the anger. That whole scene was so heartwrenching. And later when they uncovered Allan's body at the castle, I just wanted to cry with Much. Sam is a brilliant actor.
Joe had a brilliant performance, too. One of his best ever. I hated to see him die... why not Tuck or Kate?! I've avoided spoilers but knew something bad was coming. And to have poor Allan die thinking the gang did not trust him was horrible, just horrible! He did die a hero's death... not that there's much consolation in that. :(
I know, they really really made the wrong choice there! I'd been hoping it would be Tuck who died since I saw him getting shot in the shoulder in the trailer last week :(
And to have poor Allan die thinking the gang did not trust him was horrible, just horrible!
I know, it's just unbearable. In a way I like that they made it so sad - I'm a sucker for pathos - but Allan just didn't deserve to die like that.
