Company Halloween party is canceled due to many teachers whining that they can't stay out until 9:00 on a Friday night because they have class the next day. THERE WAS NO RULE THAT SAID YOU HAD TO STAY UNTIL 9:00.

What kind of boring teachers do you have over there, Stormy?
When I was teaching English, we were expected to attend parties and dinners which ran usually from 7 till midnight, or later. Even if we had work the next day. There were weekends that were practically gastronomic orgies with a party on Thursday, another on Friday, and a third on Saturday. Plus the eventual group outing with friends on Sunday. Weekends where sleep was something done on the train. Oh, those were the wild and fun times!
(If I tried that now, I'd be dying by party #2, and pronounced dead at party #3).
