"All these buildings and you'd think Titan's Tower would be one of them."

Yep there's Beastboy idly musing about the things he missed from the top of the Outsider's hotel.

Of coarse one thing he would never miss is baddies like Mad Mod. Weird that he would think of the elderly British criminal right now. With his weird music and spiral boards that always turned his brain to mush.

Speaking of brains...Beastboy felt the hairs on the back of his neck start to rise. An animal instinct deep inside him trying to cut through years of human domestication to warn him of...

Nope. Too late. There was a sinister grin, as the body began to grow and swell in size. The tell tale pentagram burned clear on his chest through green fur and muscle, and the trident appeared.

A mighty howl pierced the unsettling silence of the city. The Darksoul was on the move again and this time...he had the entire animal kingdom behind him.

Starfire was about as recovered as she could be from the events of Fairplay. She'd likely always feel some guilt in the back of her mind, but it was past and she was herself. It was then up to her to be herself again, starting with reconnecting with some important people.

As her first friend among the crew, she thought Beast Boy would be a good person to start with. It was just a matter of finding a green animal out and about. When she spotted him, a sudden spike of confusion appeared.

Why is Beast Boy carrying a trident?

She wasn't on the right side to see the marking, but she worried that her friend might be bothered by her absence. "Beast Boy?"

Something didn't feel quite right.

Beastboy didn't respond at first flexing his powerful claws and looking about. In reality the Darksoul was testing out this new form. Finely tuned senses were a wonderful thing.

With a laugh that could only be described as maniacal he sprang from the roof and dug the trident into the wall ripping the stone from the building as he slid down the side of it sending sparks and rubble falling around him.

"Beast Boy!"

That wasn't like him at all. Starfire frowned, diving down to move into his line of vision. "Why are you doing this? I do not understand."

Her usual curiosity had developed a worried edge.

Kanaya alwaysamoirail January 21 2011, 04:44:41 UTC
Kanaya was taking an overdue chance to explore the city when the strange feeling hit her. She stopped in her tracks, glancing back at the structures behind her -- the jumble of alien architecture that marked what her map called "Religion Row." Had she stirred something in her wanderings between those strange buildings? It felt distinctly improper, not quite Dersian, too warm --

You will do for now.

The unfamiliar presence in her mind bowled her over with little more effort than that; Kanaya flailed, attempting desperately to resist it, but she was scattered, and it was focused. She couldn't let it get her weapon, though. With the last gasp of her free will, Kanaya reached into her pocket and flung her lipstick away, towards the brush and ruins.

"Charming," said the thing in something that was not quite Kanaya's voice, "but futile." The trident materialized in her hands, and the troll's remaining consciousness winced. This thing... this thing...

All it wanted was to settle scores. It was very hard to say it was wrong.

Someone else had been watching though., had been since she felt the flurry of activity all over the place. the City was normally big enough that she could be undisturbed, but that had definitely changed. There was demonic energy in the air, thick with it, and Alessa was naturally curious. It seemed pretty dead set on moving from host to host too, and it was bound t be causing chaos on the ship.

She smiled. Good. Damn people seemed to only get serious when something chaotic was happening. However, this ideal promptly changed when she thought of Sasami, and that had brought her to investigate now. She sensed the demon thing was near, and went to meet it.

It was in the form of a troll, but that did not fool her: if the trident wasn't a dead give away, the energy certainly was.

"And just what trouble are YOU causing today?" She said, staring the troll down.

"Revenge isn't trouble," the troll answered, eyes glinting with something deeply unpleasant, even more than the solid yellow eyes might normally project. "At least, it's not trouble to anyone undeserving. This one has a score to settle, and I'm going to help her do it." There was a definite undertone of malice there, and unsavory joy, that made the Darksoul's intentions entirely clear.

With that, the possessed Kanaya bolted, apparently unwilling to stay and let this new interloper take a shot at her. The troll was quick on her feet, heading south towards the core of the city -- the transport tubes, perhaps?

"And what would that be?"

Alessa already appears in front of the troll. "Oh, you thought you were dealing with some human, didn't you, or an exorcist? I already know about the possession, not that I would need to. You stink of it. So what are you up to? I'm bored."

Roxanne neveradamsel January 21 2011, 05:27:34 UTC
Roxanne was...tense. While things weren't necessarily bad, they certainly weren't great. Her entire life had been turned upside down --again-- by arriving here, then learning her home was gone and that Megamind was quite possibly the only person still alive from said time and place and he just happened to be the one that had made her life a living hell--

Well. It certainly made for an interesting time of it, that much was for sure.

She's near the Sensoriums for now, arms crossed as she considered heading in, taking a stroll through Metro City.

That's when something odd hits her, something that doesn't feel quite right, something...undeniably foreign.

"That's not--"

She shudders and all of a sudden she's overcome with a distinct feeling of helplessness as that thing takes over, encompassing her mind and assuming control. Something materializes in her hands, and what's left of Roxanne's sanity registers it as a trident.

"Relatively useless, but let's make do with what we have, shall we?"

The talk had left her feeling better at least, but at the moment, she was overly consumed with emotions that fluctuated between rage and an innate desire to settle a score, even the odds.

The bit of her consciousness that was left is doing its absolute hardest to fight back, regain control.

"Stop fighting, it's relatively useless, you know. Besides, I make it possible to get even. Go on - you can hear him now. Let's go play, shall we?"

She looks down at her hands that are engulfed with something she's never seen even as she wraps her fingers around the strange weapon in her hands.

"Megamind--?"

Ruffnut as it turns out was still nearby...arguing with herself.

"So what if I think of her like that huh? It's not like I'm replacing Tuff." She reasoned as she stopped to examine a peculiar structure she'd never seen before. It was in fact a fire hydrant.

"Weird." She mumbled out loud tapping it with her foot, oblivious to the Karmic backlash that was about to be brought down upon her head.

Ruffnut blinked once...twice. Then rubbed her eyes.

"Um...hi Hiccup?" She spoke slowly, with that particular tone that indicated her less then high speed brain was trying very hard to process something confusing.

So naturally she started with the simplest of things, "You got a tattoo?" She asked confused and pointing at the upside down pentacle on his bare...and admittedly toned chest. Ruffnut had to blush as she realized that he had firmed up since they were younger. He'd never be a big bulky strong manly man but...well he was slightly less scrawny?

The Eleventh Doctor - Hanger - TARDIS (doors are left open) makeherblue January 21 2011, 10:45:46 UTC
So. Evil spirit thing floating -- he can't say running because chances are, it probably doesn't have legs in its natural state -- floating around possessing people. He'd like to say he doesn't have experience with this but look, it's a big old universe out there: he probably does and he might have something to help out with locating the lifeform back in the TARDIS. He highly doubts it's an actual spirit. Spirit-like, easily mistaken for a ghost or demon or whatever it was someone wants to call it, yeah, sure. Okay. Workable. He thinks. What he needs, though, is equipment ( ... )

If he didn't want someone to come wandering in, he shouldn't have left the doors open.

Paco had been running around looking for people who weren't paying attention to their comms so he could warn them and point them to areas where Stacy's combat tentacles could grab whoever was possessed before they could hurt anyone. He'd ducked into the Hanger just in time to see the Doctor disappear into the TARDIS.

"Hey, hey dude!" he called, skidding to a halt inside and rubber-necking a bit. "Uh, firstly, cool, secondly and more importantly, did you see the comm alert?"

I think Jamie's after :3 makeherblue January 22 2011, 05:49:21 UTC
The only reason he hadn't tried to immediately kill the intruder was the fact that one, the Doctor/Darksoul was bent down adjusting a dial on the underside of the console and two, he didn't want to hit the console. Not that it wouldn't take long to just get up, clear the console, and get plenty of space to have a little bit of fun.

Make that a lot of fun, because that was a big human and that made it a...what did they call it? Two for one. Human looked big enough for two to him.

The Doctor's head popped up over the console, the trident still in his other hand. The Doctor didn’t seem to be blinking at all, simply staring coolly at the intruder. “I saw it. Trust me, I’ll have it under control,” the Doctor said, eyes flicking from the big human’s face down his body. Picking out the best places to start. Burning him with soulfire was the easiest but why make it easy when he could drag it out? Have a bit of fun. Then again, he had a whole planet he could go to after this (thank you, TARDIS), but who said he couldn’t enjoy himself before ( ... )

Possibly. :) bonnypiperlad January 22 2011, 06:33:38 UTC
From outside the TARDIS doors comes a faint "Doctor!", followed by the owner of those particular footsteps. Jamie's running through the hangar, trying to get to the time machine as quickly as possible - and, in fact, he also comes skidding through he doorway a few seconds later.

Luckily he notices there's someone else there in time to avoid plowing into the other man. He doesn't really know Paco, but Jamie thinks knocking him silly wouldn't make for a great introduction.

Besides, there's more important things to worry about. Pausing only long enough to get a breath or two in, Jamie says urgently, "Doctor, did ye see the message on the wee bitty computer thing? There's this thing loose..."

Something catches his attention out of the corner of his eye, something that's become all too familiar a sight - and not one Jamie wanted to see here at all. The trident is there, much too close to the Doctor for Jamie's liking. "Och, no."
