The Vestibule: The Front Guards cityship October 16 2009, 04:51:55 UTC
Those in the Vestibule are the main line of defense against any intruders. They have to make preparations to have several positions to fall back to.

Duncan doesn't mind being in the thick of things...hand to hand combat is what he's best at anyway. He doesn't mind volunteering.

Kirk nods, dragging another pew into position on the first fall-back position, "Of course. Give me a hand with this pew, will you?"

The roofs alongside St. Peter's Square are a great place to set up gunners.

With some hard work and some help from Luly, RObert had managed to set up quite a nice little next on the roof of the Basilica. Sandbags taken from the armory gave him protection, and he had set up the browning with a sweeping field of fire to cover almost any part of the open square, set up his ammo, made sure his back up weapon (his rifle) was close at hand and Rob had even walked the courtyard in order to make sure his range estimates were correct. Now all he had to do was wait.

Grif picked up a sniper rifle when he figured out there was a chance he could be up on the roof, y'know, away from whatever was coming after them. If he has to do fighting at all, it improves matters if it's the kind that doesn't require him to move much.

"Okay, what do I have to do?"

He doesn't really want to be here, but he is.

"Well, first, come over here and I'll show you how to work the Browning. That way you can feed me ammo and help spot targets." Robert beckoned at the strangely armored fellow.

"No one else has volunteered, so I'm going to get you to help."

The Chapel of the Column: the Medbay Area cityship October 16 2009, 04:57:22 UTC
The Medbay area has several cots, equipment, and medical supplies taken from medbay. There are also portable medkits to take if they need to take any supplies on the run.

This area is also where the kiddles are.

Ellen still wasn't used to the ship. Or the suit she wore. Somehow, she'd managed to find her lab coat in the W&P and had it on over the plantsuit. It wasn't much, but it was something. Her hair was tied back and her gun strapped to her leg under the coat, hopefully she wouldn't need to use it. When the moving had started she'd just let herself be herded and followed, feeling generally a little put out and confused. She hadn't really been able to find out what was going on but she knew it had something to do with getting off the ship. Another team was already off somewhere else ( ... )

Sharp Tongue, who is carefully organizing her own medical instruments (by which I mean messy array of creepy-looking primitive tools) in a corner, looks up.

The raptor snorts.

"As I have not been bitten or shouted at yet, for all I know it may well be me," she says with biting sarcasm.

That would be one Lois Lane, currently rifling through a med kit so she knows exactly where everything is. If she didn't know where everything was, she wouldn't know where to reach in a crisis, and while she is generally happy to put herself in trouble just to dig herself out again, this was not one of those fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants scenarios she wanted to muck up.

An armed doctor-looking woman? Awesome. An armed doctor-looking raptor? She needed a drink, but alright.

"That'd be me," Lois replied, looking up and setting down whatever she had in hand. She glanced between the two. "Lois Lane. Jaime put me in charge here."

The Sacristy: Rear Guard and Prisoners cityship October 16 2009, 04:59:01 UTC
The rear guard has a very important job to do. Two of them actually--guarding their only possible exit and guarding the prisoners. Mercifully, the prisoners don't seem to be stirring up any trouble.

Ronon got the gist of what was happening and hated the fact that he was still in prison. He didn't have a good feeling about this and it showed as he glared at the guards. He felt he should be out there guarding the left behind crew instead of idling about in prison and without his gun.

"The glaring won't do you any good, so you may as well find something else to do."

Angua was a police sergeant. She wasn't often assigned guard duty back at the Watch, but that's because she was far more useful out in the field. Here, it was a good position for her, though.

If one of them got out, she could find them and bring them right back almost immediately.

There's lots of work to be done all over. Pews to be converted to more beds, and so on. High windows to help the fliers board up. Some people might just be nervous and need reassurance.

Will's pixie wings don't let her fly. But she's a lot stronger in her Guardian form, and people are more inclined to listen to her and not treat her like one of the little kids when she's in it. So some people might not recognize the red-haired, pixie-winged woman who's pushing pews around and looking for faces that need reassurance, but to be fair, a lot of people probably never noticed Will in her normal form to begin with.

All the while, she's looking around for people who are scared, nervous. She's trying not to be one of them. It's easier when she's like this - more powerful, more sure of herself. She can extend a little of that surety around, even if she can't fly.

"Need a hand?"

Jamie moves over to take the opposite end of one of the pews Will is pushing, offering a tight, uneasy smile in greeting. Jamie is apprehensive now that the plan has actually been set in motion, in contrast to his previous cynical apathy. He's just as glad for the work that needs to be done; it distracts him from fretting too much about the dire circumstances they're heading for.

The smile Will offers in response is as comforting as she can make it. "Thanks."

She wants to reach over and pat him on the hand, touch his shoulder, something comforting. She can feel the apprehension coming off him in waves. "Things are going to be okay," she says, as if she's thinking out loud to herself. "Everybody's working together really well."
