How to Lose Friends & Alienate People     6 MB
A first short teaser for his UK comedy that chronicles the rise and fall of a writer (Simon Pegg) who both adores and despises the world of celebrity, fame and glamour. After working for an alternative magazine he gets a lucrative offer to work for a conservative publication. Jeff Bridges plays his editor, Megan Fox a starlet, and Kirsten Dunst the love interest. Gillian Anderson and Danny Huston are also part of the cast. Based on Toby Young's memoir. An article about the movie and the author.
While this sounds like an excellent premise for a comedy, teaser is sadly surprisingly high on physical comedy. But movie is scheduled for release in the UK only for October so there's plenty of time to improve things. I hope.

Day Zero     16 MB
New trailer for this intense drama that starts with the premise that the military draft has been re-established in the US and then follows the lives of three best friends (Elijah Wood, Chris Klein, Jon Bernthal) in New York City who have thirty days to come to terms with their fate - the draft is back and they've been called to serve.
Movie will have a limited release in the US starting next week and the DVD will be out at the end of February.

It's a Free World...     9 MB    Interviews/Clips 59MB
Trailer for the latest social drama from Ken Loach (The Wind That Shakes the Barley, Ae Fond Kiss, My Name Is Joe). Angie gets the sack from a recruitment agency for bad behaviour in public. Seizing the chance, she teams up with her flatmate, Rose, to run a similar business from their kitchen. With immigrants desperate to work the opportunities are considerable, particularly for two girls so in tune with these times.
Movie took part in the official competition last year in Venice and won the award for Best Screenplay. Trailer is relatively short, if you're interested I recommend the featurette consisting of interview snippets and a few clips.

Iron Man     6 MB
A quicktime version of the second, short international teaser for the big screen adaptation of the Marvel comic that has some more footage featuring Gwyneth Paltrow. Scheduled for release in May it will also star Robert Downey Jr., Jeff Bridges and Terrence Howard.

Paranoid Park     HD480p 45MB   HD720p 109MB
Entirely different US trailer for this drama about a teenage skateboarder's life that begins to fray after he is involved in the accidental death of a security guard. Directed by Gus Van Sant (Elephant, Finding Forrester, Good Will Hunting), cinematography by Christopher Doyle.
Movie was part of the official competition last year in Cannes. The UK trailer.

The Business of Being Born     HD480p 51MB   HD720p 122MB
Personal documentary tackling the controversial debate between at-home and hospital births in the U.S. It presents surprising facts regarding the historical and current practices of the child-birthing industry. The chronicle is interwoven with footage of married couples opting for home childbirth.
Admittedly, not one of the topics that's very high on my list of interests but doc seems to raise some interesting questions. Limited theatrical release in the US but I'm sure cable distribution will follow soon.
