Congratulations on the conference- it sounds like an excellent opportunity.

As for the mint and the planter- be careful, if you want to plant anything else in there with the mint, as mint is rather aggressive, and will spread anywhere you let it. I'm excited for you, though- mint is so useful, and having your own herbs can be such a nice thing.
