Drew couldn’t leave the puppy by itself. It felt wrong, and whoever let the puppy stay their on its own didn’t have a heart. I mean, it was probably the cutest thing Drew had seen. The man had a soft smart for anything small, children, puppies, kittens, you name it and his heart would melt. It was adorable, yet maybe just a bit sad. Drew was able to sneak the puppy into the apartment, tucking the thing into his jacket because hell, the puppy was small. He was tempted to buy a dog tag for him with the name “Brian” on it, but he didn’t want to ruin the chances of keeping it. This was equivalent as a five year old finding a puppy and begging their parents to keep it. It just so happened that he was a twenty seven year old guy
( ... )
Brian was going to try to remain the sane one in this situation. He knew that Drew would probably have picked out a name for the puppy or even bought toys for the thing by the time he got home. He opened up the door, hearing the puppy bark and shook his head. He was definitely going to break soon. He stepped inside, rolling his eyes at Drew's greeting and then looked at the most adorable puppy, his heart melting, "Oh god Drew, why'd you have to find a cute one? And why do I feel like we're on some sitcom right now?"
“He is adorable, isn’t he!” he said almost overly excited. At the moment, Drew was acting like a little boy. He never had a pet of his own when he was young, and he always wanted one, although his younger brother could have pretended to be a puppy for him. Knowing Drew he might have dressed up his little sibling if it wasn’t for the fact he was always working and whatnot. Drew pushed the puppy closer to Brian so that the puppy could lick his face. Drew gave Brian the puppy and closed the door behind them. The puppy was a feisty one, and it would be hard to hide him, but hey, Drew did not want to give it away.
“So yes, we’re keeping him” Drew said determined. Going into his room, he grabbed the rope him and the puppy used to play tug-o-war and the puppy quickly jumped out of Brian’s arms to play with it, “I didn’t think of a name yet. I wanted to wait until you came home…” he said and bent down on one knee to scratch behind the puppy’s ears, “so, got any idea on what we should name him?”
Oh god...that lick on his face made Brian completely cave. He was going to be rational with Drew, but how in the hell could he manage to do that with this adorable puppy in his arms and licking his face? Fucking Drew and his good heart bringing home stray puppies that they probably shouldn't have in the apartment. Brian helped lower the puppy as he began to wiggle in excitement over the rope that Drew had brought out and ran hand through his hair, "You're going to get us kicked out. You should really find the rental agreement and see if it says anything about pets. And I don't have any good dog names in my head, wasn't exactly expecting one to show up."
