Agree. I loved Will Smith's performance, that was the best bit of the movie for me. Reminded me of Castaway, but with mannequins instead of a volley ball. As for the movie itself, it was a bit disappointing. :)
You're review is very accurate and I agree. Will Smith did take on the very demanding roll providing the audience with a gripping performance for the first to acts, But did anyone else find the "Infected" specimens to be a little too cgi? I would've much prefered some real actors providing a not so physically enchanced performance, but the attention to detail would me much more impressive, Take LOTR for example (i know wierd comparison bare with me) the comprehensive intergration of CGI and good performances by actors to create the Urukhai gave the audience a detailed one to one realisation as well as a grand scale view of the species. With I am Legend the over use of CGI on the "infected" spoilt it for me making it too unbelievable, as well as the disapointing ending, although some of the gripping silences, flashbacks, and sudden jumpy plot twists provided the story to be rather entertaining and thus I completely agree with your verdict of 3.5/5 - Cheers George
