You do know that Mickey and Mallory are fictional characters and were never actually media sensations covered enthusiastically by the local news, right?

Indeed I do. My comment about it pretty much proved itself true, as Natural Born Killers was released six years after Miami Blues and the characters in it were media sensations within the film. Granted, that is a decade before the mythical time period known as "nowadays".

did you laugh at the scene when the door bell rings & he says what the hell was that man. that is one of my favorite lines of all time.

The guy was such a bundle of nerves it was hard not to laugh at everything he did. Like when he shot that guy then yelled "Stop, POLICE!"
