.
She is perfect for him. They have the same taste in movies and music, so it takes no longer than five minutes at the video rental store to choose a movie - there is no fussy lingering between the aisles. She contributes intelligent, rational arguments to his rambling diatribes when he gets carried away with the state of the world. She’s a celebrity, so she understands the need to be discreet, but at the same time, she is straight forward and honest and sometimes a little blunt. She is mature and understanding and open-minded and just a little left of center, enough so that Tablo finds himself genuinely liking her as a person.
She is also nothing like Eunhyuk, and for some reason, Tablo finds this important.
She is nothing like Eunhyuk, who spends half an hour trying to decide between two movies, weighing the possible pros and cons of each DVD in the middle of the store, before giving up and letting Tablo choose a horror movie that makes Eunhyuk scream like a girl and hide behind the fort of cushions that he constructs each time he comes over and that, by the end of the movie, is demolished by his diving out of the fort to capture Tablo in a frightened stranglehold and to swear that, next time, hyung, really, I’m choosing the movie.
She is nothing like Eunhyuk, who, when Tablo gets into one of his ranting moods, will sit with him and nod from time to time, blinking earnestly, but whose eyes, Tablo can see, glaze over as soon as he starts talking about politics. She is nothing like Eunhyuk, who is consistently vague and more than just a little bit flaily, who dances like he breathes, who is young and naïve and doesn’t understand the world, not yet, whom Tablo needs to shelter and keep close, keep pure, if not for Eunhyuk’s sake then for his own peace of mind, to remember that there is still something in this broken, beaten world that isn’t corrupt or tainted, something that he can live for, can sing for, can breathe for -
She is nothing like Eunhyuk, and Tablo isn’t so sure that he understands what that means to him anymore.
