I totally agree with your number 1...although for me, it's almost tied with the D/K kiss. I know it was Katherine but I still consider it a D/E moment. That speech and that kiss was for Elena. You could tell in that moment just how much Damon cares about Elena.

i loved that moment too, which is why it was number 1 in the "special" category. it wasnt DE technically, so i felt wrong including it, but you are right, damon cares about elena SO much and that scene was amazing for him.
