"Pot roast?" Elizabeth asked, surprised, as she sat down at the dining table. "Honey, you only cook this about every six months. To what do we owe this unexpected pleasure?"
Peter smiled a self-satisfied smile. "Oh, it gets better."
He got the Pinot Noir he had already opened from the kitchen, pouring the dark red liquid into the two round-bodied glasses on the table.
After Peter took his place opposite his wife, she picked up the bottle he had set down on the table. "Is this the one that your Aunt Mary gave us for our wedding? You've been saving this up for a special occasion."
He beamed at her. "I have."
"And the occasion is?"
"We arrested James Bonds today."
"Neal Caffrey? Are you serious?"
"Very."
"Wow. How long have you been after him now?"
"Feels like forever. Three years."
"And you just arrested him? How did that happen? You always said he was smart, always a step ahead."
"Looks like we found his Achilles heel. His girlfriend-Kate. He'd been looking for her, and so have we. Guess we got lucky that we found her first."
"Ah. Love. It can get you in trouble."
"That, it definitely did."
