he shuts the door on jin and immediately tries to discard the image of jin framed by his doorway like a prize-winning photograph, regret rolling off him in waves that crested around kame and swarmed into his airways, his lungs, drowning him. all kame wants is to tear open his doorway and race to the stairwell before jin can leave and tell him everything he felt over the past few months, years, but never said. he leans his forehead against the cool grain of his door. no declaration of undying love or demonstration of his feelings for jin would change the fact that he would be boarding a plane headed for la the next day. kame wonders if he's giving up the best thing that's ever happened to him, but if jin can do a good job of forgetting kame, then kame is going to do an even better job. he's always been competitive ( ... )

loved the heartbreak though, will love it even more if it's the prelude to the eternity kame had been thinking all along

i thought about it, actually and realized that something i'd written before could possibly be a sequel to this. it's, uh, happier, i guess? it's over here at ficwars, if you are interested :-)

i don't know what happened! jin leaving for la just seemed like the most logical step, but asfjfds i kind of hate myself for writing it.

but! i kind of belatedly realized halfway through writing the last part that this could totally be an acceptable sequel. aslfj i should stop writing about the same things all the time.
