Characters: Tseng and Rufus (and possibly Reeve) Progress: Ongoing Summary: Tseng finally arrives in Lindblum Location: ...Lindblum :| Date: Today Warnings: None that I can think of
Answering the phone on it's third ring, he was careful to keep fine control over the voice which responded, at least until he'd identified the one on the other end anyway, it was rather useful to remain unknown and thus able to see what the other two likely couldn't by now. "Yes?"
Here and just slightly confused as to where to go next, since Rufus hadn't mentioned where in Lindblum they'd set their base of operations. But presumably he wouldn't need to actually mention that. Even with it taking him near on a week to arrive he would hardly expected Rufus to forget about it.
Ah, the faithful hound. Well, perhaps the man could be made useful despite or perhaps because of his apparent interest in the stones. Time would tell eventually and if the man got too annoying, he was certain he could always arrange to have him slain or make it look as if he'd vanished like some here seemed to do without warning.
He rattled off the directions which would bring the man to this estate and then waited to see if he had anything more to say right now.
Nothing right at the moment, anyway. Anything else he might have wanted to say could just as easily wait until he arrived. Even over a phone it was more than possible that someone might overhear something Tseng would far prefer they didn't.
"Understood," he answered with a nod, even though Rufus wouldn't have been able to see it. "I'll be there shortly."
Reeve was sitting at a small cafe in Lindblum, finishing up a lunch which he barely actually tasted, because his mind was on the recent events of the city. First Vincent leaving, then Cloud, and Barret... add to that the recent hubbub that seemed to have taken a number of people from town here to parts unknown, and the fact that some people who he had at least talked to in his days since arriving on Gaia had just gone completely silent, leaving him wondering just what was happening on this world, and if he was going to be long for it
( ... )
Tseng turned at the sound of his name. True, there were more than a few people who knew his name here, but he honestly hadn't expected to find any in Lindblum at the moment. Needless to say, seeing Reeve standing there was something of a welcome sight.
"Reeve," he answered with a nod and a faint smile. "I hadn't known you were here."
Reeve smiled back. "I only arrived a few weeks ago. And I'm still trying to piece together exactly how... or why. But as for you, I must say I'm surprised. I didn't know you were here either. I've heard some of the other Turks were around, and I met Rude when I went to meet Rufus, although I've heard that Rude has seemingly left now, but I didn't hear anything about you."
"I don't believe any of us know why," Tseng answered with a shrug. No one had yet managed to mention anything particularly plausible and oddities aside, he had every reason to believe this was another world. It was the most logical answer, after all.
"Reconvening with the rest of the company, mostly."
