Bold the ones you've read COMPLETELY, italicize the ones you've read part of. Watching the movie or the cartoon doesn't count. Abridged versions don't count either.
I seem to do this meme regularly though the list changes ever so slightly from time to time. So I won't post it in my journal this time. I got 80/100 or more but I honestly can't remember if I've read all the bible or Shakespeare so I left them in italics. However, I've had a lot more time to read them in than you! *g* I think you'd enjoy Captain Corelli, which isn't at all like the movie. If you ever have children ignore Enid Blyton because she's very 'dated' but Wind in the Willows is magical. Don't even think about Dan Brown, but do try Vikram Seth, and Marquez.
I'll try Captain Corelli's Mandolin since you've recommended it! As well as Vikram Seth, and Marquez. And I'm glad you didn't recommend Dan Brown since I would've had to defriend you or something. :D
Some of de Berniere's other stuff is good - try Birds without Wings - but steer clear of his South American trilogy because he tries to copy Marquez and in my opinion fails and I hated it!
The Dan Brown phenomenon really amazes me. The book is tripe - no idea if the others are as bad but he is such a crap writer!!
A Suitable Boy is one my top ten books of all time - I adored it.
Captain Corelli's Mandolin is a great book. I mean it has a rubbish ending IMO but most of the book is fabulous adn not remotely in the Dan Brown kind of category.
Mind you I also read childrens books so this whole "too old for" thing seems bizarre to me :P (the only book I've ever felt I read when too old was Catcher in the Rye, it really is such a teenaged angst thing) I love Wind in the Willows MORE THAN WORDS, it's also one of my most favourite theatre experiences too *G*
Well if you don't like talking animals then probably no it won't be your thing. But I still love it. And I'm also fairly convinced Toad kind of IS fandom *nods*

Although I'm still not so sure about Wind in the Willows. I'm thinking I have a thing against talking animals... I know my soul is dead. /o\
